About Us

Elmwood Park Academy is a family-owned and operated private school in Terrytown, LA. Since opening in 1973, we’ve treated every student like they were a part of our family.

Our Philosophy

It is our goal to help students recognize their capacities and to provide the opportunity and guidance for them to develop. Excellent instruction is combined with friendly recreation to give each child a well-trained mind, healthy body, successful social adjustment and the chance to acquire a complete education.

Our Students

Elmwood accepts children from Preschool-3 through 8th grade. National Achievement group testing average on our total battery is above the 80th percentile, compared to the National average of the 50th percentile. Elmwood was ranked in the top 50 small private schools in the country. Our average student to staff ratio is 15 to 1.

Our Staff

Elmwood's degreed faculty are exceptionally qualified and are selected on the basis of character, scholarship, experience, and personality. We provide a concerned staff whose primary goal is to educate and mentally stimulate students. We also recognize the importance of working together with parents as a team to ensure the student has the best possible opportunity to learn and grow.
